The digital coin wallet market is becoming more valuable than digital cryptocurrencies, according to CoinDesk.
Digital coins such as bitcoin, ethereum and litecoin are currently the most popular cryptocurrency in the world, with roughly 25% of all cryptocurrencies trading on CoinDesk’s CoinMarketCap.
But the market has also seen a significant increase in popularity in recent weeks, according the survey, which was conducted in the first quarter of 2018.
While ethereum saw a slight decrease in its value compared to the prior quarter, digital coins such a bitcoin, litecoins and ether all saw gains.
Digital coin wallets, such as Coinbase and Bitpay, now account for nearly 90% of the cryptocurrency market.
The survey also found that digital coin wallets have become more popular in recent years.
Digital wallets now account, on average, for more than 60% of digital currency in use, compared to just 40% in the year prior, CoinDesk said.
The cryptocurrency market is now worth $20.6 billion.
