When the Cubs go to a new park, they should show respect to the fans

Posted September 29, 2018 05:21:20When the Cubs are at Wrigley Field, they don’t need to be doing anything that’s a challenge to the team’s fan base.

So when they go to Coors Field, there’s going to be no need to show the fans anything that isn’t part of the tradition of the Cubs, general manager Jed Hoyer said.

The Cubs will wear their green jerseys with a green cap for the first time at Coors.

They will also wear green socks.

Hoyer wouldn’t elaborate on what they’ll wear on the road, but said it won’t be the same green.

The team will also use the same number of jerseys for each game.

It’s a great way for us to show our appreciation to the people who make the game special, Hoyer told reporters Monday.

Hoyer also made it clear the team will be looking to the future when they come to the new ballpark, which opens to the public Saturday.

“It’s going the right way, it’s going in the right direction, and it’s definitely going to show respect and support,” he said.
